The New Perspective Of Group Work Evaluation

Group work,as one of three major social works,plays an important role in rescue,relief,development.The working methods of group work applies for the fields,frequency of use,popularity and the degree of application have become almost aprofessional representative image of the social work.However,according to the author’s own practical experience and observation,findings about the practice of social work nowadays is that the main purpose lies in entertainment.Through the analysis of 40 documents,the author also found that current focus of the effectiveness of social work lies in whether there is diversity in the forms,whether the content is interesting,and whether the group characteristics are fully presented,etc.And the assessment methods are also more concerned about the prior,after or both,which makes it the evaluation of the forms and process of the team work.Such a ssessments can not represent the effect of Group work,nor the value and scientific significance of Group work.After 《The two-dimensional structure of social work values in the application of hospice service 》is published,it provides an attempt and analysis tool which divide the unified goal of case work with purpose dimension and the technical dimension of two-dimensional.Inspired by this,the author did a further thinging:Does the two-dimensional structure of social work values be generalized and applied in the study of social work action? And can it also be applied to the study of group work effectiveness assessment? In the evaluation,the author found that the effectiveness of the group as a complex action,its goal is not a single one,and it should at least contain three levels,namely,scientific research,organizational effects and group characteristics and value ethics.The value of the scientific research goal should be neutral,not value-related;With the organizational effect and the group’s characteristic goal to focus on the group work form,it is the summary of the experience,its value has diversity;The value ethical goal and social work values have a strong correlation.In the case of value-based choice,the two-dimensional structure of values has a strong applicability,and in the value of neutral-based activities,it is difficult to play a role.Therefore,this paper analyses values ethical level target which contain the value of social work importantly using the values of two-dimensional structure,inorder to expand the perspective of effect evaluation of Group work,and discuss the applicability of the values of two-dimensional structure through the practical application.
