The textbook is the most important material for teachers and students.And as a major part,Geography textbook is the material for teachers' instruction and students learning.At present,the situation of “one syllabus for more” as well as Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Geography(2011edition)sets a good example of comparison research for new edition of Geography.The comparison research of Geography benefits the design,justification and improvement of the textbook,last but not it offers inference of choice and usage.This thesis analysises the research back ground and situation at present,which chooses the material published in people's educational press as well as the one in Chinese Books as their research object.This thesis firstly understand the advanced research by literature review;then analysis the choice of content,forms of expression and narration system by means of comparison,statistical analysis,analysis and synthesis.Finally,conclusion is made by summarizing.Firstly,it is the same with content choice and quantity.The differences lay in that the former chooses Indian in Asia,while,the latter chooses Egypt in African.The two types of textbook differ in structure design,which are their orders,organization and the keys points in dealing with the same content.Secondly,the appearance of content,items set and numbers differs too.The number in Chinese Books is more than the one in people's educational.the latter ought to add the categories of items.when the cover design and inner content design,they both share its characters.the Chinese Books pay more attention to details.although they are full of science and art,they have shortcoming.Thirdly,in the context chapters are various because of the difference of organization and structure.For example,the guidance differs.the edition in Chinese Books provides guidance by questions,however,the another edition has its guidance question before each chapter as well content;in its content part,it is simple in language,easy to read,attached to questions,majority in human geography and combined with pictures and activities.Then the Chinese educational edition has its explicitness and reasonableness in literal.the two editions differ with the same reading material.put it more simple that the Chinese Books edition has lager rang of content,which pays attention to the usage of it.Fourthly,in the image system,the two are plentiful,various and stress on the usage.In the design of pictures,they focus on the combination of pictures and words.However,another edition is even more perfect.The former pictures are beautiful while the other is simple.Fifthly,as far as the activity system,the two are various,they both various and combine with pictures and words,meanwhile,they try to cultivate students' picture analysis ability and the usage of pictures.the Chinese Books edition full of explore activities,which is more than another edition.but another edition is better when the number of activities as well as concrete number.
