Effective classroom questions are the most direct way to ensure the effectiveness of the high school mathematics classroom teaching. After investigating the situation of the high school mathematics classroom questioning, the writer of the paper puts forward some personal ideas and suggestions on how to design effective classroom questions and how to improve mathematics classroom teaching efficiency, according to the requirements of the new curriculum. In this paper, the author introduces the present situation of classroom questioning in the mathematics classes of senior grade one through the investigation and interview of teachers and makes a detailed analysis of the emotion and attitude of students, teachers' questioning, questioning waiting time, students' response and students' questioning. The results showed that the teacher should grasp the proper opportunity of questioning, focusing on the important and difficult points of students, the connection of old and new knowledge, students' blind zones of thinking, and the key points of teaching procedures. When questioning, the teachers should follow these four principles—scientific, clarity, proper waiting and positive evaluation.According to the teaching practice, the writer also puts forward four strategies to optimize classroom questioning: 1)pay attention to the problem situation to stimulate students' thinking;2)improve thinking ability by using variable teaching;3)arouse the students' desire to explore by asking illuminating questions;4)use the connection between old and new knowledge to make sure of the coherence of questions. In the end, suggestions for further research are proposed in the thesis.
