Study On The Supervision Of Social Work Institutions In Beijing

There had been nearly hundreds of years that Social work had been introduced to China but developed tepid.It got a breakthrough until 2006.A series of social work development policy,laying the foundation for strengthening the construction of the system.Social work supervision as an important part of the social work development with specialization and institutionalization,that is also included in it.Social workers are the direct beneficiaries of the supervision service.How did they understand and experience for supervision is closely related to improve the quality of supervision service.In this study,I want to know what is they accept the supervision experience,found and summed up the present stage of social work institutions supervision situation,through the definition of supervision and understanding,mining and exploring the essence and connotation of the supervision from social works perspective.Through the analysis of the interviews,the study reached the following problems:1.Frontline social workers often feel the powerlessness of work.The way of supervision also is one of the causes.2.Frontline social workers ideal supervision directly reflects the reality of requirements.Most of them said the supervision service was still unable to meet their needs.3.Social work institutions urgently need qualified internal supervision.The personnel that shared by organizations management to supervise administrative sexual way may affect a line of exchanges and communication between social workers and supervisors.4.In the eyes of social workers,supervision is a process of knowledge to reassure.In this process,supervisor should have high professional ability and quality to give social workers effectiveness for guidance,advices,emotional support and backing.Social workers are also cannot rely solely on supervisor,they also are not almighty.In the process of supervision,how the social workers to understand and grasp is more important.Study found and conclusion are explained from the perspective of social work supervision function theory.The functions of supervision including education,support and administration.The functions of education and support puts forward specific demands on the ability of supervisors.Correspondence theory shows that the professional ability of supervisor will directly affect the fit between them,thus influence the service effect in the aspect of professional.Empowerment theory shows that supervisor whether give social worker the thinking space and opportunity to deal with problems,affects the generation of social workers powerlessness in the aspect of emotion.Administrative function lays stress on that institutions internal professional supervision is necessary and significant to their existence.
