The Supervision Model Of Project Social Worker

Social work supervision is an important part of social work. The exploration and representation of the experience on social work supervision based on local reality has vital significance to enrich its knowledge system and guide its implementation. However, there are limited researches on the social work supervision currently.This paper is an exploratory research on the mode of supervision of project social workers in local social service organizations. The author wrote the paper based on her internship experience at Z Social Work Service Center in Jinan. This paper wants to provide some reference of social work supervision to local social work service centers through the analysis of the current situation and exploration of the project mode of social work supervision.The author carried out the research by the method of long interview of qualitative study. She collected and sorted the first-hand material of the interviews on project social workers at Z Social Work Service Center. On this basis, the study was analysed from three parts:the constitution of the project social worker supervision team, the form of supervision and the contents of supervision. The author made analysis the current situation of supervision of Z Social Work Service Center and summarized their mode of supervision as "multi-joint supervision mode based on the project".The research further pointed out the problems of this supervision mode. Since Z Social Work Service Center is on the process of continuous exploration, there must be some problems on their mode of supervision. Such as poor time effectiveness of supervision, information feedback postponement, local environment restrictions on overseas supervision, unreasonable supervisory personnel structure, fragile relationship of domestic supervisors and the lack of systematic plan of project supervision. Combined the interview materials, the author summarized the causes of these problems into three aspects:lack of social environment at macro level, lack of recognition and investment from the government and other social communities at intermediate level, restriction on the limitation of supervisor at micro level.In the end, the author put forward methods of improvement from four aspects to address the existing problems of Z Social Work Service Center:in the first place, the government should create a positive macro environment for the development of social work; secondly, the organization should establish a sound supervision system for the social workers; thirdly, the supervisors should improve overall personal quality and the professional level of supervision; lastly, social worker should improve themselves by active learning of professional knowledge and skills. Only when the government, social work service organization, supervisors and the project social workers cooperate and coordinate with each other, will the supervision of social work develop toward the direction of professionalization.
