Peer effects in the process of education is an important research hotspot in the education of science,economics and sociology.The research of peer groups impact on the education of the production process can not only improve allocation of educational resources,but also helps to promote the development of social integration,public policy education fair.However,compared with the theoretical significance and the policy value of this research topic,the domestic research is relatively deficient.The purpose of this paper is to explore the peer effects on the academic performance of college students,try to innovate and supplement in this research field.This study uses the student data provided by Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics to determine the effect of dormitory relationship on College Students' performance in a quantitative way.Will the roommates' learning ability and peer groups characteristics have a significant impact on individual student achievement? The analysis of this problem will help to understand the mechanism of the peer effects of college students in China,and to establish the micro basis for the study of the allocation efficiency of educational resources.First of all,this paper introduces peer groups learning ability and peer group characteristics to the educational production function of college students.Secondly,this paper using the random arrangement to solve the endogenous problem of the peer effects partly.Again,this paper will analysis different learning ability to study the peer effects.The analysis results show that the individual's own characteristics and characteristics of the peer groups have an important impact on the personal academic achievement,peer groups' average learning ability has a significant positive effect on the personal academic achievement,the learning ability difference between the peer groups has a significant negative impact on the personal achievement.Peer effects in college students' dormitory indeed is one of the important factors affecting individual achievement.In addition,it is found that the peer effects is nonlinear.Compared to the high learning ability of students,low learning ability of students benefit more from the peer groups.Peer effects under different backgrounds romms are not the same,peer effects in the mixed mode of living are greater,and mixed residential on the whole is a better choice.
