The Social Work Intervention In The Improvement Of Migrant Children's Parent-Child Relationship

In recent years,with familial trend of floating people,migrant children is gradually becoming a huge special group.The healthy growth of migrant children is directly related to our country's future,so the related problem of migrant children arouses widespread attention from all walks of life.According to the current study of migrant children,people has paid much more attention on migrant children's mental health,education and social adaptation,but less on their parent-child relationship.A good parent-child relationship can make smoother communication between parents and children,and promote their mutual understanding,thus it can promote children to set up the correct outlook on life,world outlook,the code of ethics and healthy psychological quality.However,a bad parent-child relationship not only get in the way of the socialization of children,also can cause bad behaviors,even more become a tragedy,and destroy the harmony of society.Therefore,more attention should be paid on the migrant children parent-child relationship.This paper studies the present situation and problems of the selected migrant child's parent-child relationship in M community of Wuxi by interviews.On the basis of the study,this paper makes a deeper analysis on the migrant children's problems and does social work intervention services.The social work intervention uses structural family therapy which assumes that personal problems are closely related to motivation and organization of the family.It takes the family as a treatment unit,and believes the problems of family subsystem are by-products of imperfect family structure and personal problems are the reflections of the family subsystem problems.If you want to solve these personal problems,it must be the first step to change family structure.The process of structural family therapy includes contacting family members,diagnosing problems and intervention.In the stage of contacting family members,social workers need to build a relationship with the service object as a leader.In the stage of diagnosing problems,social workers need to know the links and reasons of the whole dysfunctional family and confirm the service object's expectation about intervention.Then social workers will set goals and plans of intervention.In the stage of intervention,social workers need to change the family system.In this paper,through the first interview,service object's family structure and system elasticity will be analyzed.And it discovers several problems in parent-child relationship.According to present problems,service plans will be made and undertook to improve the service objects' family structure by correcting family interactions,making the border of family members clearly and establishing a permeable family subsystem.In that way it will improve the director's parent-child relationship fundamentally.This paper will carry on the summary and reflection from the perspective of social work based on the case of the social work intervention in the improvement of migrant children migrant's parent-child relationship.Compared to the other methods,structural family therapy will be more competitive because structural family therapy containing the mix of different cultures and values fits the structure of migrant children's family and it will be easy to find the source of problems which affect migrant children's parent-child relationship.However,social workers must make accurate judgment about the structure of family.Meanwhile,it requests social workers to have a higher authority and improve the localization of interventional techniques.Family,community,social organization and government combined with analysis of dimension in this paper,need to make efforts to help migrant children to improve their parent-child relationship,and build a support network for migrant children's parent-child relationship.Finally,I hope to offer certain experience to improve migrant children's parent-child relationship for other regions.
