It is proved by criminology and psychology researches etc.that parent-child relationship improving could, firstly, helping the inmates to quickly adapt to society and back to family with the understanding and help of the family members;secondly, helping the minor children of the inmate improving prosociality, keeping the steadiness of study and life, promoting mental health and preventing juvenile delinquency;thirdly, helping the inmate's family structure and system, making positive effect to the family members. Therefore, some judicial bureau implements a X PLAN,retaining B social work organization to work on 11 inmates and their minor children. This research is studying how the social work interference with parent-child relationships between those 11 inmates and their minor children.According to the different characteristics, their parent-child relationships are divided into three types, the unsteady type, the conflict type and the hostile type are sorted from the degree of the conflict between the inmates and the minor children. And the study is focused on one representative case from each type.Meanwhile, since the social work changes when inmate father comes back,so we divide the social work into two phases, social worker begins to work till ahead of the release of the inmate father is phase 1,inmate father is released till the end of the social work is phase 2.Two comparisons are made on the basis of social work implementation, the first is present horizontal comparison between typical cases of three different parent-child relationship types, the second is diachronic vertical comparison of the same typical case. The comparative study shows, firstly, the three different types are of advantages and disadvantages maldistribution, also of different contradiction. For example, the unsteady typeis the easiest to adjust since their contradiction is nonprincipled, but the hostile type is the hardest because their contradiction is intense.Secondly, the social work intervention is different according to three different parent-child relationship types. For instance, for the unsteady type, the success rate is the highest in repairing parent-child relationships when the social workers interfere with the inmate father and the minor children at the same time to enhance the communications and remove misunderstandings;for the conflict type, the parent-child communication mode is re-established when social workers interfere with the inmate father and the minor children in the cognition of conflict by applying with behavioral-cognition theory;for the hostile type, the major task of the social workers is to ease the negative feeling of the minor children towards the inmate father and to resolve conflicts,to prevent the inmate father from abusing, etc.harming the minor children.Meanwhile, according to the family system theory, the social workers work with the family subsystem to increase the support and help indirectly to the inmate father and the minor children system.Thirdly, with the study of the changes of the typical case's parent-child relationship before and after social work intervention as well as the release of the inmate father etc.,collecting and evaluating the data of the interaction, support between inmates and the minors of different time during the social work intervention as well as the emotional changes of the minors, analysis the effect of social work to those three types 'typical cases. In the end,the paper summarized the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of social work intervention. On the basis of comprehensive study and analysis,it is suggested to increase the service quantity and extent the scope, and eliminate the prejudice to the inmate family, bring the effect of parent-child relationship with social work intervention into community rectifying evaluation parameter.Hope the research could offer new ideas for the social work to intervene the parent-child relationships of inmates.
