The Analysis Of The Influence Of Population Mobility On Peasant’s Marriage Stability

Since the period of 1980’s,a large number Of rural labor forces moved to cities from rural area for working.According to the result of the sixth national census showed that the number of the floating population has reached 221.43 million in the present.About the marriage stability,population mobility result rural divorce rate rising.This research combined the investigation method with the documents research and through the structural interview and snowball method to collect the research date.On the classification of marriage and family stability,the author divided into two categories namely,marriage stable floating family and marital instability of the floating family.The analysis of the interview data showed that different marriage mode in the flow process whose stability is not the same.Through the interview date from the stable marriage in floating family,we can find that there are some factors are important in maintaining their marriage stability.First of all,the group means of the population mobility make sure the floating population in the society of acquaintances.Secondly,the closed Interpersonal circle makes them have the less foreign communication and less alternative resources to marriage.Thirdly,the cost of divorce is expensive,so with the view to benefit maximization,they finally choose maintain their marriage.The last one,the frequently communicate between the couples can improve the quality of their marriage,especially the wife take the initiative to go out and visit the husband,which can consolidate the marriage stability.Then the regularly marriage interaction can improve the quality of the marriage,And through the interview information from the wobbly marriage in floating family,the research found many factors destroy their marriage stability.First,the unit of individual floating means weaken the family nuclear functions.Moreover,one spouse moved to the cities which make the couple out of sync in the developmental socialization and widening social gap.Second,the nature of the work for example taxi driver,salesperson and so on,whose communication circle is open.The third,the frequently population mobility can make the attraction of the marriage alternative resources become more attractive.The fourth,the ability of social tolerance about divorce is become looser than before.The fifth,the female’s floating can improve their family status and make them more independence,which can more likely to propose divorce.
