Population aging is a social phenomenon that must occur in the process of human society's own production and reproduction.It is also a common problem that must face.The contradiction between the increasing demand of physical exercise and the space supply of public sports is becoming more and more prominent.The main problems are as follows:First,the basic needs of the elderly in the basic food and clothing needs to meet the situation,but the elderly are facing the problem that sports Exercise and public sports space is not satisfied with;Secondly,it is the spirit of the elderly,although the decline in physical function,the emergence of mental vacancies,but they are eager to live a health life,enrich their lives and achieve self-worth.Based on the above two aspects,the study about physical exercise space of the elderly is indispensable.This study is based on the multidisciplinary theories of urban geography,physical education,psychology and sociology.The study adopts the methods of literature,field investigation,questionnaire survey,ArcGIS spatial analysis,mathematical statistics and case analysis.The research area is mainly in the central area of Shanghai.The survey area includes eight districts such as Changning District,Huangpu District,Hongkou District,Jing'an District,Putuo District,Xuhui District,Yangpu District and Zhabei District.The spatial characteristics of the physical exercise behavior of the elderly were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed,and the spatial structure,current situation and layout of the aged people in the central area of Shanghai were visualized.And it can provide a reference for the sports spatial planning department of the elderly in the central area of Shanghai.The main findings and research conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The number of the elderly population in the downtown area of Shanghai is increasing rapidly and the population density is accelerating.At the same time,the public sports space in the residential area and the residential area level is increasing,and the main form is fitness center.(2)The elderly sports fitness venues of Shanghai urban area in terms of quantity or area,have significantly improved,and constantly improve the elderly public sports facilities construction and management,basically to meet the elderly physical fitness and leisure needs,basically,it achieves a full coverage of the community public sports field.The sports space in the central urban area of Shanghai is characterized by hierarchical,gradual and open.(3)The elderly tend to choose the park,green space for physical exercise.The distance is within a thousand kilometers.The exercise time is mainly in the morning and in the afternoon.The majority of exercise frequency is seven times or above in a week,each time about one hour.(4)The physical exercise of the elderly space was circle model,that is,"Home-Residential Area-Community/Street-Area".And the elderly physical exercise behavior space has a high convergence and concentration,physical exercise space relatively small,showing a three circle with physical exercise space structure.(5)The urban area of Shanghai elderly living space and park green space distribution of sports are directional,that is,Northeast-Southwest direction.(6)Taking Shanghai Jing'an Sculpture Park as an example,the park sports ecosystem is composed of the main body(the elderly),the elderly physical exercise needs and the park environment.And it can develop in a steady,steady and balanced manner.
