Research On The Factors Affecting The Employment Of Accounting Graduates

Currently,China's higher education system consists of several parts,including higher vocational education.Higher vocational education is closely related to social development,local economic development and people's benefits.As China expanded the scale of higher vocational colleges and introduced new admission forms in recent years,the number of students enrolled by higher vocational colleges kept rising and a large number of graduates from higher vocational colleges will enter the employment market each year,resulting in the grim employment market.When comparing accounting graduates from higher vocational college with those with mechanical and electrical,electronics and chemical majors during employment,accounting graduates are not as same as those with these majors,as a factory can employ many graduates with these majors while offering less positions for accountants.There is an urgency to improve the employment status.By conducting research into factors on affecting accounting graduates' employment as an accountant,finding out main factors affecting employment of accounting graduates and proposing targeted suggestions and solutions,accounting graduates can find out major-related jobs,provide professional knowledge and guide for new accounting students,and boost the sustainable development of accounting major in higher vocational colleges.Moreover,more accounting graduates will find out accountant-related jobs,which will facilitate development and reasonable allocation of China's human resources.With an empirical view,the thesis conducts surveys among accounting graduates from the institute of finance and economics,X Vocational Technical College,and conducts crosstab analysis to analyze the relationship between student's individual factors and accounting gradates' employment as an accountant.The thesis analyzes and discusses if the following aspects will significantly and regularly affect graduates' employment as an accountant,including gender,household registration,politics status(Party member or not),score of major courses,having certificate of accounting professional and junior certificate of accounting or not,winning scholarship or not,parents' education background,family's annual income,if family has a car,if student has a driving license and a practice experience inside and outside college,and expected salary.The thesis also analyzes main factors affecting accounting graduates' employment as an accountant.It is found through research that factors such as gender,household registration,Party member,score of main courses,certificate of accounting professional,parents' education background,driving license and expected salary will significantly affect accounting graduates' employment as an accountant.On the basis of conclusions from research into factors affecting accounting graduates' employment as an accountant,the thesis proposes relevant suggestions such as consolidating academic basis,obtaining vocational qualification certificate,becoming Party member through improving comprehensive ability,obtaining driving license at school,start career planning as soon as possible and establishing correct view of employment,to provide a reference for accounting graduates in higher vocational colleges.
