The concept of geography curriculum in junior high school is “to study the useful geography of life”,”to study the useful geography of lifelong development”and “to build open geography course ”.Under the background of the new curriculum reform of geography,the local geography curriculum is one of the necessary contents of geography curriculum in compulsory education.It plays an important role in the cultivation of students' geographic literacy that actively develop the local geography curriculum resources in junior geography.In view of this,guided by man-earth areal system,the student-centeredness and the instruction theory of constructivism,and combined with the actual curriculum in Xinyang,to “research on the development of local geography curriculum resources of the settlement in junior high school——Taking Xinyang national traditional village as an example'' as the subject,this research aims to provide the reference for the implementation and application of local geography curriculum in Xinyang.The first chapter: the author introduces the reason and significance of the choice of thesis,the research review,the research ideas and methods.The second chapter: Through literature research,the author gives clear distinctions in the definition of “settlement”,“locality”,“local geography”,“traditional village”,“Xinyang national traditional village” and gives specific definition on the study of the relevant classification and related areas.The third chapter: By using the method of questionnaire and interview,the author conducted a questionnaire survey and interviews among junior middle school geography teachers and students in Xinyang.Then the author gets some information of the junior middle school geography teachers,including the basic information,the cognition of traditional villages in Xinyang,the exploration and utilization of curriculum resources,etc.Also the author gets a clear understanding about the students in the region,like the basic information,the cognition and utilization of traditional villages in Xinyang.All these give a first-hand information for the research of the exploration of national traditional village curriculum resources.The fourth chapter: According to the results of questionnaire survey and analysis,combined with the characteristics of Xinyang traditional villages,the author did a research on the development of traditional village curriculum resources.Through theresearch of the traditional village curriculum resources development principle,development principle,development structure,content,implementation and application,the author builds a system of junior high school's local geography curriculum of settlement.The fifth chapter: Put forward the conclusions of this study and sum up the inadequacies of the study.
