The research from the perspective of PCK is a very important way to study the teachers' professional ability.The connotation of teachers' professional competence includes not only teachers' subject knowledge,but also the ability about knowledge transformation.And the measurement system of PCK has more practical significance for the training of geography normal students.The study aimed to improve the PCK levels of the geography normal stedents,who are the formal teachers in reserve.On the one hand,the paper provides some suggestions for Colleges and Universities on the cultivation of geography normal students.On the other hand,it puts forward advice to the students about how to arrange their study and life at school,and indicates the direction for their future career development.This paper is composed of the following parts:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and significance of the topic,describes the research status at home and abroad,and introduces the research content and research methods of this paper.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the study,focusing on the definition and connotation of PCK,the elements and the determination method of PCK,which lays the theoretical foundation for the quantitative study of the third part.The third chapter designs the framework of quantitative research.In this paper,a set of research methods and framework are formed by theway of video and questionnaire,according to the tools developed by the Erickson College for the evaluation of teacher' PCK level.We invite the graduating students to watch the instructional video,which relate to topic of “ Pressure Belt and Wind Belt ”,and fill in the questionnaire to measure their PCK level.Through the design of the questionnaire and scoring standards,a systematic research framework has been formed.The fourth chapter analysis the data of the questionnaire result.Firstly,the PCK levels of the geography normal students are in the medium level,indicating that there is much room for improvement.By making a horizontal comparison among four components of PCK,it found that the score of “geography knowledge” is the highest and the score of “strategic knowledge” is significantly lower than other three parts.It can be seen that how to use the appropriate representation method to transform the teaching content knowledge into the knowledge that the students are easy to accept is the most important ability of the normal students who are about to embark on the teachers' professional posts.Secondly,this paper analyzes how these factors,such as the“Internship Experience”,“Educational Level”,“College Entrance Voluntary”,“Liberal Arts or Science Students”,affect geography normal students' PCK level.The data show that: the students with internship experience scored the highest marks;postgraduate students scored higher than the undergraduates;the students who choose Geography Major as their first aspirations have a higher PCK level;liberal arts students scored higher than science students,but science students are slightly better than liberal arts students in terms of "curriculum knowledge" and "strategicknowledge".Finally,the “students' knowledge” and the “strategic knowledge” are placed on the most important position.The fifth chapter is the summary of the results of the third and fourth chapters.Firstly,it analyzes the existing problems from the perspective of "geography normal students" and "pedagogical education".Secondly,it puts forward the training strategy for geography normal students based on PCK.The sixth chapter is the conclusion part.This chapter summarizes the conclusions and shortcomings of the study,as well as the prospects for this study.
