The academic point of view that family factors have important effects on children' development has won the general recognition of academic circles.Thus,family cultural capital as the important family factors affects the development of children,which is worth studying.While the current research has testified that institutional capital or embodied cultural capital has an impact on study engagement,but the research on the three forms of family cultural capital influence on students' study engagement at the same time is still scarce.Therefore this research according to the theory of Bourdieu on family cultural capital analysis,combining with the rural junior middle school students' family education and study engagement,and by investigating a junior middle school grade seven students' study engagement and families cultural capital to access to the relevant data,at last explore family cultural capital influence on study engagement.The research found:firstly,different gender and age of junior middle school students' study engagement levels exist significant difference.Secondly,different groups of students' study engagement levels have a significant difference on the ownership and use frequency of family cultural capital,and the students in higher study engagement level group owning institutional capital,objectified cultural capital and the embodied cultural capital is significantly higher than lower level,the students in higher study engagement level group use frequency of objectified cultural capital is higher.Thirdly,we put students' academic performance as control variable analyze the influence of family cultural capital on study engagement,the result is that family cultural capital has a significant impact on study engagement.Objectified cultural capital and the embodied cultural capital have a significant impact on study engagement,and have very high explanatory power,except institutional capital.In which,institutional capital,objectified cultural capital and the embodied cultural capital have a significant impact on cognitive engagement;the embodied cultural capital have a significant impact on emotional engagement,while institutional capital and objectified cultural capital do not;objectified cultural capital and the embodied cultural capital have a significant impact on behavior engagement.Fourthly,based on the above findings,we put forward three suggestions in view of the rural students' parents rich and use family cultural capital.
