As part of senior middle school appreciation art selective teaching,high school fine art appreciation enjoys a higher fulfillment rate because of its low cost.However,the lack of practice in this course made it comparatively hard for students to learn it.In this paper,it starts from angle of promoting students' development and explores the strategy of promoting students' comprehensive learning in art appreciating teaching.The paper consists of the following five sections:In the first section,it focuses on great significance of the study.The study on strategy to promote students' learning for understanding in art appreciation can improve the effectiveness of class teaching and make for students' real and true development and growth.Also,it developed corresponding analysis on relevant research findings both home and abroad.In the second section,it presented learning for understanding,which was put forward by Professor David N.Perkins at Harvard University Comprehensive learning is with purpose,integrated horizon and humanism.It also conducts analysis on the connotation of comprehensive learning.In addition,it presented that high school art appreciation course was valued and focused more than time before new curriculum reform,however,it still didn't get sufficient attention and there are problems of faculty's deficiency in capability and students' low interests in this course.In the third section,the author presents that many factors would affect learning for understanding in high school art appreciation teaching,including exam-oriented education;faculty's education level and knowledge,class design ability and personal charms;Art course books arrangements;and high school student's psychological status.In the fourth section,it states that the concept,goal,content of teaching,students' recognition,teaching & learning environment as well teachers' capabilities would affectthe formulation of teaching strategies.Appreciation theory,constructive learning theory,meaningful learning theory all provide theory basis for formulation of the strategies.Finally,based on these factors,it proposes to perform emotional strategy,conceptual analysis strategy,inquiry-based learning strategy,creating teaching scene strategy and local teaching strategy which focus on respecting students.Also,it presented corresponding examples.In the fifth section,it designs high school art appreciation teaching case study with purpose of achieving students' learning for understanding based on results of this research.According to survey of students' recognition before class and comprehensive learning status after class,it can be seen that specific comprehensive learning strategies formulation can effectively promote students' learning for understanding.
