Under the background of the era of core literacy,the cultivation of students 'cultural comprehensive understanding has become a problem that modern art teachers need to discuss and study deeply.This paper uses the survey method and literature research method,takes the unit teaching design of landscape painting as an example,and discusses the strategies and methods of improving the comprehensive understanding of students ' culture through landscape painting appreciation teaching.As one of the core qualities of art discipline,"cultural understanding" is to improve students to understand art works from the perspective of culture,and to help students understand the relationship between art and culture.Chinese landscape painting is an excellent form of representative of traditional culture in China,has rich cultural connotation and cultural heritage,unique artistic characteristics and educational value,carry out effective landscape painting appreciation teaching,can guide students to establish a correct aesthetic and cultural outlook,and then establish cultural confidence.Combined with the interpretation of current policies and class targets,starting from the launch of field questionnaires and interviews,this study summarizes the actual phenomena in high school art appreciation and teaching,and systematically explores the significance and value of landscape painting teaching in cultivating students ' cultural understanding.Combined with the existing research results,from the excellent heritage of Chinese landscape culture,the traditional cultural value of landscape painting,to the educational value of landscape painting appreciation.On the basis of the above research,the strategy of appreciation and teaching of landscape painting is put forward,based on the theory,from aesthetics,emotion,practice and integration,trying to help students understand the artistic style and development of landscape painting in different historical periods,and enhance their understanding of traditional culture.In order to explain the problem,the article selects the main representative works of the Song,Yuan and Qing periods,conducts the case design of landscape painting,and summarizes and reflects on the teaching practice of cultivating students ' comprehensive cultural understanding.The teaching design of landscape painting in the high school art appreciation class should use a variety of ways,angles and aspects to deepen students 'understanding of traditional culture.At the same time,the knowledge learned in the teaching of landscape painting can also be integrated into other disciplines to enhance the correlation between subject knowledge and gradually promote the improvement of students ' core art quality.
