Nowadays the information technology has advanced with its full speed and the new curriculum reform in China's middle schools is also under way,leading to new problems and new challenges for lesson-planning activities.The research is aimed at studying the current situations and the effectiveness of online lesson-planning activities to try to find answers to the following questions: 1.What are the weak points,if there are,in the course of carrying out online lesson-planning activities? 2.Compared with those traditional lesson-planning activities,what advantages do online lesson-planning activities have? 3.How can we make some improvements in carrying out online lesson-planning activities?With the reference of relative theories,the author takes the lesson-planning groups of English teaching in Minben Senior High School as an example and research approaches of questionnaire survey,interview survey text analysis and literature survey have been adopted to analyze the present situations of online lesson-planning activities in this school and to point out some weaknesses in carrying out these activities.After conducting a case study of online lesson-planning group activities,some advantages of these activities are concluded.Afterwards,some suggestions based on these findings are put forward to solve,to some extent,the problems existing in the present online lesson-planning activities.The findings reveal that there are some weak points in the course of carrying out online lesson-planning activities in this school which are the lack of specific and clear aim,the incompetent group leader,the limited contents and forms and the absence of cooperative culture.But in the meanwhile,compared with the traditional ones,online lesson-planning activities have a lot of advantages.For example,these online activities break the restrictions of both time and space,reduce arbitrariness and inefficiency,inspire the enthusiasm of the group members,enhance communication between them,and provide more chances for teachers to learn from each other and do some introspection.And the convenience of the platform itself,coupled with its features of low-cost and low-carbon-dioxide also makes it more adaptable to the information age.Based on the findings of the research and some afterward interviews,the author put forward some suggestions: First,a specific and clear aim should be set.Secondly,a competent leader should be appointed and the proper arrangements of group members should be seriously considered and some talents should be introduced when necessary.In addition,the contents and the forms of the lesson-planning activities should be enriched.Last but not least,the construction of material culture,spiritual culture and system culture should be promoted to increase the effectiveness of these online lesson-planning activities and to improve the professional development of teachers as a whole.
