According to Bandura's self-efficacy theory,perceived self-efficacy will affect human's behavior's outcome by regulating their cognitive,motivational,emotional and selective processes.These conclusions had been testified by massive researches.Students' interest toward academic research and their literacy of conducting research are forming in the postgraduate education.Therefore,It has important value to explore postgraduate' research self-efficacy(RSE)and influencing factors,since it could give instructions to the practice of how to develop students research self-efficacy as well as enrich the self-efficacy theory.Based on the re-understandings of Bandura's self-efficacy,the analyses of research tasks and required abilities,and relevant existing studies,this paper is aim to explore the properties and structures of research self-efficacy and its influencing factors.There are several research hypotheses in this study.1.Research involvement self-efficacy should be included in RSE.2.Tutors' supervision will influence RES of Master candidates.3.Students RES will be influenced by seniors' interests,attitudes and involvements toward research tasks,as well as by mutual interactions 4.There will be some relations between students' RSE,frustration coping attitude and achievements.This study will mainly use quantitative research method and add some interviews materials as supplementary,to provide evidence of effective measures of RSE and explore the environmental factors of RSE,Followings are some important findings:1.We can measure RSE in four dimensions,literacy reading and questions generating self-efficacy,data collections and analysis self-efficacy,academic writing self-efficacy and research involvement self-efficacy;2.Senior students have significantly influence on individuals' RES;3.Comparing to giving personal,and emotional supports,task and skills related instructions can better improve individuals' RSE;4.RSE will influence individuals frustrations coping methods as well as research achievements.In conclusion,the hypotheses are well testified in this study.At last,this study provide Several suggestions in terms of how to improve students' RSE,from three perspectives,students,tutors and university governments.
