After entering the 21 st century,China began to carry out the first round of basic education curriculum reform.The new curriculum reform emphasizes that students should enhance scientific inquiry and innovation awareness.Scientific inquiry is mainly manifested in the form of experimental inquiry in chemistry,and experimental inquiry is also an important part of scientific inquiry.Chemistry Curriculum Standard has also clearly pointed out that scientific inquiry is an important part of chemistry courses and an important way of learning.Chemical experiments can not only help students learn chemical knowledge,but also can effectively improve the students’ ability to explore the experiment.Experimental ability is the basic ability of students to learn chemistry indispensable,the ability of experimental inquiry can also reflect the level of development of students’ scientific literacy.During the Junior high school,students learn basics of chemistry,and it is the foundation stage of student experiment exploring ability.Experiment exploring ability in junior high school will directly affect the development level of experiment exploring ability in high school.It is necessary to understand the status of students’ experiment exploring ability in junior high school and to find the effective strategies to cultivate students’ experiment exploring ability.This paper mainly adopted literature research,questionnaire and qualitative research methods and other ways to carry out research.Firstly,we analyzed of reference articles,and we selected the Dewey’s Pragmatism,Schwab’s Inquiry Teaching Theory,Constructivist Learning Theory and Systems Theory Education Theory as the theoretical basis for research and to define the core concepts.Secondly,we conducted a questionnaire survey of students’ experiment exploring ability and analyzed the results of the survey research,in order to understand the current situation of students.We selected the candle burning experiment as an example,and we use qualitative research methods to fully understand the current situation of s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t e x p l o r i n g a b i l i t y.Finally,we combined the survey results and the situation of student experiments exploration,and proposed effective strategies to cultivate s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t e x p l o r i n g a b i l i t yThis paper has seven parts to explain the junior school students’ chemistry experimental exploration ability n and Cultivation Strategy under the New Curriculum The first part is the preface.The second part is a research progress,which defines the core concepts of scientific inquiry,experimental inquiry and experimental inquiry.The Third part is the basic theory,which sumartis some theory :Subjective Education Theory,Inquiry Learning Theory,Constructivism Theory,Capacity Development Theory and System ScienceTheory.The fourth part is the object analysis,which h a s a q u e s t i o n n a i r e s u r v e y o f s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t e x p l o r i n g a b i l i t y.The fifth part is the experimental research,which selected the candle burning experiment as an example,in order to have a c o m p r e h e n s i v e u n d e r s t a n d i n g o f t h e s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t e x p l o r i n g a b i l i t y.The sixth part is the c u r r e n t s i t u a t i o n analysis,which c o m b i n e d t h e s u r v e y r e s u l t s a n d e x p e r i m e n t a l c o n d i t i o n s t o a n a l y z e t h e s t a t u s o f s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t a l i n q u i r y a b i l i t y The seventh part is l o o k i n g s t r a t e g y,w h i c h i s m a i n l y p r o p o s e d t h e e ff e c t i v e l y s t r a t e g i e s t o t r a i n s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t e x p l o r i n g a b i l i t y.T h e e i g h t h p a r t i s c o n c l u s i o n,t h i s p a r t i s r e s e a r c h s u m m a r y a n d r e f l e c t i o n.This paper tries to explore the current situation of s t u d e n t s ’ e x p e r i m e n t a l e x p l o r a t i o n a b i l i t y of junior high school and cultivation strategies under the New Curriculum,by the above-mentioned parts,so as to provide some reference for the chemistry teachers.
