Junior high school students are in the critical age at puberty.They would be different from before both physically and psychologically,with some new and maybe not obvious psychological changes that they have never experienced.As a result of the rapid physical and mental change,on one hand,they have to accept the challenge of it;On the other hand,they also have to face a series of problems in the process of coping with socialization,self-identity.All these problems and changes may produce a very profound impact on the rapid development of their self-consciousness,especially self-evaluation,which is very easy to cause the inferiority feelings of the junior high school students.Furthermore,traumatic experiences in childhood may be one of the triggers of inferiority.At present,many literatures indicate that there is a correlation between traumatic experiences in childhood and inferiority feelings,but few studies have explored the correlation among the dimensions.Therefore,this study adopted the “Junior High School Students' inferiority complex scale” and “Child-hood Trauma Questionnaire-short Form(CTQ-SF)” to investigate the current situation of middle school students' inferiority feelings,its demographic differences,and the correlation between it and the traumatic experiences in childhood.At the same time,we applied the narrative orientation group counseling to intervene in a small number of middle school students with strong inferiority feelings,and the results verified the effect of the narrative orientation group counseling.The conclusions are as follows:1.The rank of childhood traumatic experiences scores from high to low: emotional neglect,physical neglect,emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse;2.The rank of middle school students' inferiority complex score from high to low: academic inferiority complex,personality inferiority complex,social inferiority complex,life inferiority complex;3.There are significant differences in all kinds of dimensions of middle school students' childhood traumatic experiences with different demographic variables;4.There are significant differences in all kinds of dimensions of middle school students' inferiority complex with different demographic variables;5.There is a significant positive correlation between childhood traumatic experiences and middle school students' inferiority complex,and the latter could be a predictor to the former to smote extent;6.The group counseling of narrative orientation has a good effect to intervene in the middle school student's inferiority complex.
