As a result of the new curriculum reform of elementary education,the comprehensive practical course of primary school which has its own objective,philosophy,content and demands raises new requirements for teachers' professional quality.Based on the theory of professional quality,professional standard of primary school and the special requirements of this course,this paper explores the content of teachers' professional quality for comprehensive practical course of primary school.The professional quality comprises four aspects,i.e.philosophy professional quality,knowledge professional quality,ability professional quality and ethics professiona l quality.Though questionnaires and interviews this study investigates the present situatio n of teachers' professional quality for comprehensive practical course of primary school in Chongqing S District.The main research conclusions are as following:(1)the teachers' personal accomplishment displays an intermediate level;(2)most of the course teachers own the good philosophy professional quality who approve the independent value of this course and the dominant role of students in the teaching,but the awareness for the course nature should be improved;(3)the knowledge professional quality is the most deficie nt for the course teachers due to the single knowledge structure and poor knowledge reserve;(4)course teachers have the basic ability accomplishment to grasp the rhythm of teaching,give play of students' subjectivity and duly handle sudden events.However,their ability for designing this course is insufficient;(5)course teachers are able to consult with an open mind,be wil ing to help students with learning difficulty and adjust individ ua l emotional.However,because of a limited sense of responsibility the working attitude needs improving.In this study,19 samples which includes teachers,educational administrator and teaching researchers are extracted for interviews.The survey result reflects the main problems for professional quality of comprehensive practical course in Chongqing S District as follows:(1)weak perspective of curriculum;(2)single knowledge structure;(3)insufficient capacity for development and utilizatio n of course resources;(4)troubles to serves as the course lecturer.The main reasons could be concluded as the follow ing aspects:(1)the normal colleges and schools hardly any establish the teaching activit ies about the comprehensive practical course;(2)education management departments is weak in the management and guidance for the course teachers;(3)the communities and parents do not approve the values of comprehensive practical course in primary school;(4)the part-time teacher could not receive effective training;(5)primary schools have no evaluation standards of comprehensive practical course;(6)the teacher individuals lack the learning ability for comprehensive practical course.According to the above investigations and analysis,this paper proposes three aspects of corresponding strategy:(1)in colleges and universities the educational administra t ive department should improve the teaching,strengthen the supervision,policy guarantee and publicity of social construction for this course to win the support from communities;(2)the schools have the duty to train the teachers' professional quality,perfect teaching staff;build the wholesome evaluation system and draw up teacher's teaching guides;(3)the teacher individuals should establish awareness of lifelong learning,enhance the teaching abilities and enthusiasm for the comprehensive practical course...
