The Research On The Reuse Of Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Venues After Games

Since 1924 to date,the Olympic Winter Games has gone through 93 years.As part of the modern Olympic Games,the Olympic Winter Games play an active role in promoting the development of the Olympic Movement,the dissemination of the Olympic culture,and the spread of Olympic spirit.Winter Olympic venues are mainly divided into indoor skating facilities and outdoor ski venues.As the material carrier of the Olympic Winter Games,the construction of the venues and the post-games utilization are the key to the success of the Olympic Winter Games and the opportunity to promote the renewal and development of the host cities.Based on the social and economic benefits,the improvement of post-games utilization has become the problems in front of the host cities of the previous Winter Olympic Games.Salt Lake City Winter Olympics is considered one of the most successful winter Olympics in history,and the high utilization rate of the stadium after the game is a sign of its success.Therefore,this research uses the literature,comparative analysis,case study and expert interviews to study the post-games usage of the Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games.The first part: the overall situation of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games venues in order to summarize the basic situation;the second part : from the venue investment entities,the management mode of venues after the game,the business strategy and other aspects of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games venue after the game.The third part: to summarize the common experience of the reuse of the Olympic Winter Games venues after the game,focusing on the common practice of the Olympic Games venues after the game and providing theoretical basis and practice reference for future Winter Olympic cities.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1.From the aspect of venues construction type,Salt Lake City Olympic Games take full advantage of the existing sports venues,and strictly control the number of constructing new venues and inputs.2.From the aspect of investment subject,the majority of new venues were invested by government sector and for the public utilities after the game.A special legacy foundation was created to protect the maintenance funds.The existing venues were invested by Private Corporation and for the commercial development projects after games.3.According to the different investment subjects,the management mode of the Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games was divided into the management mode of the foundation,the management mode of private enterprises,the management mode of entrustment.The public and private partnership mode is beneficial to the management,reducing the risk of relying solely on government management;improve the level of the venue after the game.4.Salt Lake City Olympic venues focus on post-games multi-functional development and utilization.After the Winter Olympics,they continue to use the sports venues hosting mega events;relying on the community sports club,serve for the local citizens;the variety of business functions fully excavated the development and operation potential of the venue intangible assets.
