The triple jump is one of the three jumping events in track and field.An effective takeoff plays an important role in triple jump.It needs an optimal vertical jumping velocity,a minimum loss of horizontal velocity and a well-cotrolled balance.These require the triple jumpers have a better physical quality.The suspension training is regarded as a training method which could develop strength,balance,agility and core strength.Using the suspension training method,it will improve triple jumpers' specific physical performance and locomotor performance.Objectives:The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of different training methods on triple jumpers' specific physical performance and locomotor performance.With the methods of explosive force test of human upper limbs,explosive force test of human lower limbs,agility test,balance test and specific performance test to measure the explosive force of upper limbs,explosive force of lower limbs,agility and balance of human body and the specific physical performance of triple jumpers.The results of this study will provide reference for coaches and triple jumpers to select the optimal training method,also it will be helpful for theoretical teaching in school.Methods: This study used the methods of literature consultation,experimental research methodand mathematical statistics.Eight male second grade triple jumpers which randomized into two groups,the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group was trained with suspension training(TRX Training System)for 18 weeks which the control group trained with traditional strength training simultaneously.Before and after 18 weeks of training,explosive force of upper limbs,explosive force of lower limbs,agility and balance of human body and the specific physical performance of triple jumpers were measured respectively by specific methods.An independent t-test was applied to each variable(within group and between group).Statistical significance was set at P <0.05.Conclusions: After 18 weeks of suspension training,the triple jumpers' explosive force of upper limbs,explosive force of lower limbs,agility and balance of human body and the specific physical performance were better than before.Different training methods had different influence on triple jumpers' specific physical performance and locomotor performance.The suspension training mainly influenced triple jumpers agility and balance of human body,while the traditional strength training mainly influenced triple jumps' explosive force of upper limbs and explosive force of lower limbs.Suspension training was better than traditional strength training in improving triple jumpers' explosive force of upper limbs,agility and balance of human body and the specific physical performance.
