Teachers' teaching abilities are always an important research direction in the field of teachers' professional development.Currently,the new flipped classroom teaching pattern and ideas make the teaching reform in traditional classroom come true,and put forward new requirements for teachers' teaching abilities;on the other hand,the general framework of “Chinese Students' Development Key Competencies” has been introduced,it also puts forward higher requirements to teachers' teaching abilities.In this context,this study conducted a survey aiming to cultivate students' key competencies on teachers' abilities of implementing the flipped classroom in elementary and secondary School,and then knew about current situation of teachers' abilities fully,analyzed teachers' insufficiency of abilities in cultivating the students' key competencies.Based on that,this study put forward some suggestions to enhance teachers' abilities.The main research work is as follows:Firstly,this paper analyzed current implementation of the flipped classroom at home and abroad and the research of teachers' abilities in combination with the literature and practice cases,then summarized existing problems of using the flipped classroom to realize teaching objectives of key competencies recently.Secondly,after combing relevant literature at home and abroad,this paper studied the core concepts,such as key competencies,the flipped classroom and teachers' abilities deeply,pointed out that the flipped classroom has some features like it is student-centered,its main teaching resource is instructional video,its main teaching form is to learn before class and to digest in class,its main learning activity is exploration and communication.The analysis laid substantial foundation for the following research.Thirdly,this study consulted existing teachers' ability standard at home and abroad,such as American professional standards for teaching evaluation of teachers,French primary and secondary school teachers' ability standard,IBSTPI teachers' competency standards and some domestic scholars' representative views of teachers' ability standard,combined with cultivation requirements of students' key competencies and implementation features of the flipped classroom,and designed an ability structure of elementary and secondary school teachers to implement the flipped classroom aiming to key competencies,including “consciousness and attitude”,“knowledge and skills”,“application and communication”,“research and innovation” these four dimensions and nine indicators.Fourthly,this study designed a questionnaire based on the ability structure above,conducted a larger scale investigation,and analyzed the data by SPSS 19.0 to understand the current status of teachers' abilities to implement the flipped classroom,then introduced the problems existing in the development of teachers' abilities.The main conclusions of this study are: recently,the development of elementary and secondary schools teachers' ability to implement the flipped classroom is unbalanced overall,teachers' knowledge and skills are generally higher,while many teachers' application and communication abilities are a little weak;there are significant differences in teachers' abilities development of different gender,educational background,teaching stages,age and teaching experiences,for example,in this survey,female teachers' abilities in knowledge and skills,research and innovation are relatively higher,so is the comprehensive ability level of teachers with junior college degree,the consciousness and attitude level of elementary and junior middle school teachers,and the consciousness and attitude level,the research and innovation level of younger teachers;teachers' abilities to implement the flipped classroom,namely consciousness and attitude,knowledge and skills,application and communication,research and innovation could influence each other,and all these four abilities could influence the cultivation of students' key competencies significantly,among these,the research and innovation ability are most influential in other ability and cultivation of students' key competencies,thus it can be seen that promoting teachers' research and innovation ability is very important in the development of teachers' abilities.Fifthly,this article put forward three suggestions about enhancing teachers' abilities to implement flipped classroom to teach,namely teachers should study,reflect and communicate continually,which could promote teachers' research and innovation abilities and special abilities by their individual effort.
