Yang Zhensheng(1890-1956)was a famous educator and litterateur in modern China.Duing the May 4th Movement,hestudied at Peking University,and then went to the United States to study.After returning from the United States,he worked successively in State Sun Yat-sen University State Tsinghua University,State Qingdao University,Changsha Temporary University and State Southwest Associated University and other colleges and universities to teach and management,especially in the State Qingdao University of the preparatory work,and served as president of the post.In the thirty years of education practice,Yang Zhensheng formed a rich and unique educational thoughts and ideas.He proposed minimum of running University education is to have the ideal university environment,ideal students and with the responsibility of the university,and on this basis to explor university exist,he proposed the university should be thought national and social services for the purpose,to cultivate students' ability to contribute to society.From the long-term development of the country and the nation,he believes that the government must formulate a long-term education program to cultivate the modern people with virtue.About primary and secondary school education,Yang Zhensheng proposed that country should attach importance to education of primary and secondary schools,with particular attention to the language and history of two families,suggested that reform ed teaching language and teaching contents of primary and secondary schools,emphasized that basic education should follow the rules of child development to form the virtue of national since childhood.Throughout the education process,Yang Zhensheng emphasized in carrying out science education.Yang Zhensheng's education thought and practice was filled with patriotic emotion.He emphasized the new literature education,constantly explore the method of reforming the national character,and was good at learning,absorbing and fusion of excellent ideology and culture of ancient and modern.Yang Zhengsheng 's educational thoughts and practice are of great significance to study the history of Chinese modern education and the history of thought and culture.It can also provide some references and lessons for the education reform in contemporary China.
