Ancient poems,as the essence of traditional Chinese culture,should be well inherited by us and later generations.Ancient poems reached a culmination in the Yuan Dynasty starting from Tangerine Ode.It began to decline from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.For hundreds of years,masters like Li Bai and Su Shi never showed up.After the New Culture Movement,people even lost the interest and ability to appreciate poems.However,Chairman Xi ' s latest speech about revitalize traditional Chinese culture again draw people's attention about ancient poems.Besides,the new curriculum reform proposes higher requirements for reading and appreciating ancient poems.Under such background,testing items regarding appreciation of ancient poems account for a larger proportion in the college entrance exam and occupy an increasingly important position.In previous Chinese teaching,ancient poems are usually ignored by teachers because it's hard to enhance students' performance in this part and therefore their scores are low.Today,the score of ancient poems appreciation is increased in the college entrance exam.Hence,teachers have to face up to the situation of teaching ancient poems.Collection reading pedagogy is a bottom-up teaching reform movement that has been initiated in recent years.At the very beginning,some frontline primary school teachers adopted an advanced teaching method of Taiwan.Later on,that teaching method swept across the entire primary school and middle school circles.Afterwards,it's promoted top-down by schools and governments.However,university teachers and students didn't pay much attention to the innovative teaching method.As a result,it's hard to build scientific and systematic theories and that the shortcomings of collection reading teaching are exaggerated.Gradually it faded away.Moreover,senior high school teachers responded indifferently to collect reading teaching method.Therefore,this paper intends to combine collection reading with ancient poem reading teaching method in senior high schools with a view to providing a new teachingdesign solution for senior high school teachers.Chapter one mainly introduces the concept of collection reading pedagogy,its differences from other similar teaching methods,and its value and purposes.Only by learning about what collection reading pedagogy is can we work out a better collection reading teaching solution.Chapter two explains why collection reading should be applied to ancient poem teaching in senior high schools,which is elaborated in four aspects: firstly,it helps compensate some demerits of traditional ancient poem reading teaching method;secondly,it enables students to broaden their view of ancient poems;thirdly,it can enhance the ancient poem teaching level of senior high school Chinese teachers;fourthly,it will make up for insufficient arrangement of ancient poems in the textbook.Chapter three elaborates how to apply collection reading teaching method to ancient poem teaching in senior high schools,which is the core part of this paper.Firstly,three key points of practice are stated,i.e.how to select the topic,texts and model.Then,it starts from the topic and analyzes how to categorize three different kinds of topics,how to choose texts according to the topic and how to design class teaching.Then it goes to discuss problems which should be noted in collection reading teaching implementation.In the end,it provides and analyzes a teaching case.At present,collection reading pedagogy has gradually drawn the attention of university students and teachers who proactively participate in studies.Their participation will improve the collection reading pedagogy so that the method can be used in a more scientific and rational way.The author hopes to make efforts as well to contribute to the collection reading pedagogy.
