The Practice Of Migrant Women Integrated Into The Urban Community Under The Empowerment Perspective

The overall living level of Chinese people is increasing now,but there are still some groups living at the margin of cities,including the migrant women.Migrant women are an important part of China's migrant population,whose number is huge,and they are active in each corner of cities,but they tend to be ignored and even forgotten by the public.The reason of migrating with their families from rural area to cities is to take care of their families better and have more chance to improve themselves.Meanwhile,many problems that can't be ignored in their lives,with the problem of integrating into the communities being one of the most important problems.With the experience of author practicing in N community of Shenzhen as the basic reference.This article makes 10 migrant women in N community as object of research,and regards how to help migrant women integrate into urban communities as the main objective.Using the observational method and interviewing method to collect material,forecasting and analyzing the current situation and main demand that migrant women faced.In order to solve these problems,the author used Empowerment theory and carried out six group activities to increase their capacities,including social communication abilities,adaptive capacities,confidence,and expand their interpersonal relationships,thereby advancing their development and helping them integrate into urban communities with a more positive posture.This research found that,these 10 migrant women that the author has selected have improved their abilities,and have adapted to the local life gradually.The difficult situation has been improved eventually.But,just rely on the services of a social worker can't fundamentally solve the problem,also need the efforts of community,government and other multiple subject.On this basis,this paper put forward to strengthen neighborhood community cultural construction,focus on training and improving their development abilities,and cultivate community social organizations.
