Popular song is a kind of mass culture form that the middle school students love to see and hear.But they just use popular songs to relieve their emotion,just listen to them and follow the fashion to listen to them.They have ignored the language and rhetoric meaning,the cultural significance carried by the popular lyrics.Learning Chinese in junior high school is to improve the students’ knowledge accumulation and application level in terms of language and words and is also to cultivate the students’ accomplishment in Chinese language and literature.During the Chinese teaching process in junior high school,the teachers’ teaching method is single and they just speak during the teaching,thus the teaching result is unsound.The application of popular songs in teaching can cause the students’ great interest in learning Chinese and can also make up the shortfall in traditional teaching modes.During the teaching,teachers should positively develop popular songs curriculum resources and correctly use them in teaching links like reading and writing to fully arouse students’ enthusiasm to strengthen their interest in learning Chinese and enhance their comprehensive language quality.Therefore,if Chinese teachers in middle schools can hold to the characteristic that the students resonate to popular songs easily and if they can closely combine the teaching and popular songs during the teaching process,the dull and unattractive Chinese teaching would become vivid and flexible,and half the work with double results would be acquired.Besides the Introduction and Conclusion,this paper includes four chapters.The Introduction discusses the topic’s origin and meaning,expounds the conception,development and feature of popular music,and analyzes the domestic research status about the development and utilization of popular songs in Chinese language curriculum resources and the application of popular songs in Chinese teaching.The First Chapter shows the Chinese teaching value analysis of popular songs,and analyzes the reason why popular songs can attract middle school students and the function that the applied popular songs in teaching can stimulate the students’ interest in learning Chinese,help them approach teachers and influence their sentiment.The Second Chapter expounds rich Chinese language curriculum resources in popular songs.The linguistic rhetoric,words rhetoric and statement rhetoric contained in the popular songs are deeply explored from the rhetorical aspect,and the examples are given for demonstration.The music for a full classical poetry is composed from the modern popular songs,and the quotation and expression of excellent poems in words of song illustrate the poem element in popular songs.According to the demands in Chinese language curriculum standards that the correct guidance for the students’ emotion,attitude and value should be permeated into the daily teaching process,the motivational and emotional education contents in popular songs that can be applied to Chinese teaching are stated in details.The Third Chapter states the application of popular songs in reading teaching.The teaching cases are used to demonstrate the popular songs’ practical application in essay,novel and poetry teaching.The Fourth Chapter shows the application of popular songs in writing teaching.The feasibility of popular songs’ application in writing teaching are demonstrated from collection and utilization of materials and themes,as well as writing language training.The Conclusion summarizes the research aim of this paper and the existed problems of popular songs’ application during Chinese teaching.
