With the advent of the era of big data,the rise of visual culture and the core literacy,especially the Third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee put forward explicitly:“adhere to fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of people” and “Reform aesthetic education teaching to raise students' aesthetic and humanistic quality”.The design thinking with the comprehensive processing ability of both sense and sensibility is gradually valued,and the design thinking training is a matter of utmost urgency.Primary school stage is thought as a significant turning point in the development of children's thinking.In this period when the concrete image gradually transmits to the abstract logical thought,children have preliminarily formed the complete structure of human thought development.How to conduct the design thinking training in primary school art class is a subject to be explored.This paper focuses on the materials and training methods about arts design thinking in the primary school,starting from the materials to classify its source,form,use,physical properties,texture and properties.Based on it the author adopted the methods according to the design concept and material characteristics and made a bold attempt to train children's design thinking in the field of “design and application” and other areas in primary school art class.This paper selects four typical cases of primary school art design thinking training of media and methods to explore four different training methods,respectively “bag design”--“to design thinking guide”,“self-made photo frame”--“to make various material selections”,“paper-cut art”--“ to change from appreciation to diffusion”,“whimsy”--“to research transmitting from structure to modeling performance”.At present,there are few researches on the field of primary school art design thinking training.Through the exploration of the media and methods of primary schoolart design thinking training,the paper summaries the classification of the media and selection basis taking the media material as the breakthrough point and put forwards some methods of design thinking training in the field of “design and application” and other areas of art design,which has been supported in the specific teaching cases.Therefore the theory of primary school art design education research has reference value to the effective cultivation of the design thinking of the high-grade primary school students.
