Sichuan Province has begun to fully implement the new curriculum reform since September,2010,which is relatively later than that in other provinces.In the new round of curriculum reform,especially under the background of implementing the new College Entrance Examination mode in the Senior 1 of 2018,where the "examination oriented education" based on the evaluation of the scores transform into "examination oriented education " based on the level of literacy,how to cultivate the necessary geographical qualities for future citizens while constantly improving their own qualities to adapt to the education reform and select the best talents in the future is an urgent problem to be solved by high school geography teachers in Sichuan Province.This article is based on the analysis of geographical core literacy and the existing research results and practical experience at home and abroad,combines the goal of educational reform and the Sichuan College Entrance Examination reform program.Corresponding training strategies with certain regional and epochal characteristics are put forward not only by analyzing the investigation on the current situation of the core geographic literacy of high school students in Sichuan Province and doing comparative analysis between Sichuan College Entrance Examination papers in Geography in recent years and those of Zhejiang Province which is one of the new College Entrance Examination pilot provinces,but also combining the new scheme of Sichuan College Entrance Examination and the teaching experience of the author and colleagues.This research sums up the current cultivation situation of core literacy in high school geography teaching by using methods of literature retrieval,investigation,comparison and induction,and empirical methods and puts forward the cultivation strategy of "the concept of man and land" based on topics,the cultivation strategy of "regional cognition" in map and case teaching,the cultivation strategy of “comprehensive thinking”based on mind map and that of “geographical practice competence” based on geographical experiment,field investigation and social investigation.
