Learning engagement refers to the positive and substantial psychological state of students in the process of learning,including the three dimensions of vitality,dedication and concentration.Students' learning engagement is an important factor that affects their academic success and predicts their academic achievement,and also an important index to measure the quality of school students,which affects the effect of school education.However,the existing research has less in-depth discussion on the internal mechanism of learning engagement,especially on internal and external factors,such as achievement motivation,teacher's transformational leadership style,optimism and learning engagement interaction to explore less.Therefore,based on the theory of achievement motivation and the theory of positive emotion expansion,this study takes high school students as the research object from the perspective of social cognitive processing to explore the relationship between achievement motivation and learning engagement,and the role of teachers' transformational leadership style and optimism.In order to enrich the understanding of students' learning engagement,but also for school education how to attach importance to the positive role of ecological environment in students' achievement motivation,to provide some empirical basis and inspiration.This study selected 982 students from many middle schools in Hubei and Hunan as the research object,using achievement motivation scale(AMS),learning engagement scale(UWES-S),teacher transformational leadership style questionnaire,life orientation self-report scale revision(LOT-R).Using correlation analysis,ANOVA and hierarchical regression analysis to investigate the relationship between achievement motivation,teacher transformational leadership style,optimism and learning input,the main results are as follows:(1)There are gender and grade differences in the learning engagement of high school students.Gender differences: The level of learning engagement of girls in senior high school and senior high school is significantly higher than that of boys.Grade difference: the level of learning engagement of the first grade students is significantly lower than that of the senior two and senior three.(2)The achievement motivation of high school students is related to learning engagement,which can predict learning engagement,and the pursuit of success motivation can predict learning engagement positively and avoid failure motivation can predict learning engagement negatively.(3)Optimism plays an intermediary role in the relationship between achievement motivation and learning engagement.(4)In the relationship between high school students' achievement motivation and their learning engagement,the teacher's transformational leadership style plays a mediating role,and the regulation role of the teacher's transformational leadership style is realized through an optimistic mediation.The greater the impact of optimism,the stronger the corresponding positive impact on their learning input.Based on this,the conclusion of this study is that teachers' transformational leadership style plays an intermediary role in the relationship between achievement motivation and learning engagement,and regulatory role of teacher transformational leadership style is realized through optimistic mediation.Finally,the significance and limitation of this study are discussed from the aspects of teachers' leadership style and students' optimistic educational utility.
