PBL is a teaching pattern adopted to cultivate students' history thinking ability.In classroom teaching,a teacher present problems concerning history teaching to create a democratic and harmonious learning atmosphere,to guide students to develop their subjective initiative,and to solve the problems.With the teaching pattern,complex of dependency will be weakened in students,who will actively analyze problems and draw conclusion,therefore,to improve their initiatives.Applying PBL pattern in history classroom teaching brings about a feeling of fresh and new in students,improves current conditions of “teaching” and “learning”,and fully motivates students' initiative.The new teaching pattern significantly facilitates advancement of teaching reform and improvement of history education in students.In the paper,literature research method,questionnaire method and interviewing method were adopted to discuss application of PBL in history teaching.On the basis of understanding the concept and connotation of PBL teaching methods,practical theories concerning PBL teaching patterns in China and other countries were integrated to summarize that PBL teaching pattern shows the features of problem-based nature,subjectivity,and cooperative nature.It is indicated that the new teaching pattern shows advantages of boosting vitality in classroom,transforming the role of a teacher and focusing on the process of exploration.However,actual investigation indicated a series problems existing in application of PBL teaching pattern in history classroom teaching at junior high school level,including low initiative of students in classroom,absence of problem awareness,poor coordination with teaching of a teacher.Problems designed by a teacher and master of teaching rhythm both affect application of PBL teaching pattern in history discipline.According to analysis,the major reason is that insufficient attention is paid to history teaching.Besides,history teachers fail to establish proper understanding on PBL teaching pattern.Together with some factors,such as simple history learning method adopted by students,there are many deficiencies concerning application of PBL in junior middle school history teaching.In the paper,practice of junior middle school teaching is integrated to fully develop roles of PBL teaching pattern in history teaching and to explore basic steps to be applied effective in PBL teaching patterns,including creating a situation of history problems,initiative exploration of history problems,team work for history difficulties,deepened understanding on history knowledge,and scientific evaluation of history learning.An integral case of PBL-based junior history teaching is constructed in the paper,showing important significance for improvement of history teaching effectiveness.
