Due to the instability of English and lower stress to enter universities,the students in secondary vocational schools tend to have lower learning enthusiasms and few capabilities in autonomous and collaborative learning.Consequently,the English teaching course cannot achieve the satisfactory result,although the multimedia instruction,project-based or task-based teaching strategies are carried out in classroom teaching.With the rapid development in the last 10 years,there is an increasing trend of applying the blended learning in teaching practise in China.It plays an effective role in classroom teaching by combining the strengths of E-Learning and traditional teaching.Meanwhile,the popularization of smartphone and social network applications extends the blended learning application in traditional classroom instruction,providing a new platform for instructors.The study raised three questions as follows:Is the blended learning model useful to the English teaching?How to construct a blended learning model for the English teaching in in secondary vocational schools?What effects can the blended learning model bring to the instructional efficiency and quality?To answer these questions,based on the previous studies,this study constructed an English blended learning model based on WeChat Public Platform,and investigated the instructional efficiency and quality in English course.The research method includs interview,questionnaire and data analysis.The research approach was to constructed an English blended learning model based on the WeChat Public Platform,which integrated the"Rain Classroom" and the "Mechatronics Engineering English" into teaching design,with a case study of Automobile English in Guangxi Mechatronics Engineering School.Three teaching cases are analysed,including classroom teaching,one-to-one teaching and online examination,and summarization on the effect of instructional efficiency and quality.The result showed that the blended learning model based on the WeChat Public Platform could be effectivly implemented in English course.The instructional design enhanced learners' learning competence,boosted learning motivation and attitude,promoted learners' information literacy and strengthened teaching management.The structure of the thesis is as follows:Chapter ?is introduction,including research background,research purpose and significance.Chapter? is literature review of blended learning,including definition,theoretical foundation,development,the representative models in practice and the research of WeChat supported blended learning.Chapter ? is the instructional design of blended learning in English course,including feasibility analysis,design principles,the general structure of blended learning model for English Course,application process of the model.Chapter ? is teaching case of Automobile English course,including pre-class preparation,three case designs and anaysis on the case application.Chapter ? is conclusion,which composed of the major findings,the limitations and suggestions for further research.
