| Nowadays the Russian women's higher education is evolving quite rapidly and successfully, the proportion of female students is much higher than male ones. Russia is one of the countries that have managed to establish gender equality in higher education.However, it is not so indeed: despite the fact that gender equality in the Russian Federation established by the legislation, women in higher education continue facing different sorts of discrimination, feeling themselves aggrieved in their rights. It is particularly can be feel keenly when the woman enters the labor market and trying to take her own place in society. It is obvious that women in Russia still have unequal opportunities than men,staying far behind. Moreover,the situation of women in higher education is an indicator of the place which woman occupies in the society as well.Therefore, after strengthening the position of women in education, we will be able significantly affect their recognition by society.Therefore, the research of women's higher education in Russia, historical and current status, existing problems and influencing factors, plays an important role in its development. The base ground of research is analyzing the situation of Russian women in higher education.As a result of the analysis the following gender issues in high schools were identified:· the feminization of the student membership and its consequences· separation of professions into "male" and "female"· difficulties of women's employment· the difference of men and women income· gender dimension in the high education funding· the status of female teachers, their career opportunities and participation in governance.Besides analyzing historical and current state of high education for women in Russia,the author puts forward some suggestions and recommendations. Author also expects this research will help to increase attention of society and other researchers to the problem of women's higher education in Russia. |
