Since the Song Dynasty, China strongly advocated moral codes, and asceticism. "Sex" has become a topic people avoided. After the Reform and Opening Up in late 70 s, along with the continuous development of material and spiritual civilization construction in our country, Chinese people gradually stepped out of the age of strict taboos with sex related topics. Sex education and sex study began to be done in population of different ages across the country. Sex education in Kunming, an important city in western China, for a long time has relatively lagged behind, especially among higher grades female students of the elementary schools. The lack of sex education to female students of this age group may have immeasurable negative impact on their physical and mental development, and may even affect their lifetime happiness.This article investigated present situation of sex education among higher grade female students in two core elementary schools of Kunming. The study surveyed teachers, students and parents of the two schools through methods of literature study, case study, questionnaire survey and experience induction. Countermeasures were put forward in combined with the study of regional climate, multi-cultures, ethnic customs and other characteristics of Kunming. At the same time, learning from the domestic and foreign experience in carrying out sex education in elementary schools, the study tried to put forward suitable measures for sex education among higher grades female students in elementary schools of Kunming, including helping them establish positive and healthy sexual values, education in sexual physiology, sexual psychology, sexual morality, sexual protection through acceptance and support of society, in the teaching of school and family, help the elementary school higher grades female students to establish and healthy, and other aspects of education.Sex education is an important part of quality education, which is vital to promote ideological and moral cultivation, scientific and cultural level and physical quality, among higher grades of female students in elementary schools. It will influence the whole life of female students, and contribute greatly to their adulthood sexual morality, love, marriage, and family. |
