Historical disciplines have a wide variety of curriculum resources, the correct treatment and rational use of these resources is conducive to the further deepening of secondary school history teaching.Among the many historical curriculum resources, folk ballads curriculum resources play an important role in deepening the history curriculum reform, improving students' ability of historical speculation and critical thinking,cultivating students' feelings of home country, forming the correct outlook on life,world outlook and values in middle school history teaching. In this context, this article discusses the application of folk ballads in the history teaching of high school, studies the characteristics and values of folk ballads, the current situation of development and utilization, the principles and direction of development, and so on. Help and revelation.The first part studies the characteristics and values of folk songs. This paper holds that the concept of "ballad" has a general trend. Therefore, this article for those who are widely sung the folk, and poetry and other formal style of distinction, are regarded as songs to be studied. In this understanding on the characteristics of folk songs. This paper argues that folk songs have the characteristics of epoch, primitive, collectivist and regional. For the value of folk songs in teaching, this paper argues that its value is mainly focused on cultivating students 'feelings of family and family, creating immersive historical situation , using historical data rich classroom teaching and improving students' learning ability.The second part mainly studies the development and utilization of folk ballads in high school history textbooks and college entrance examination questions.
