According to the requirements of the overall reform in ordinary senior high school curriculum,the ministry of education updated the standards with the 2013 full-time ordinary senior high school new curriculum standards,which especially points out that English curriculum is a major one in senior high school.In this curriculum,it's obvious that the lead-in in class stands out as the fundamental part of teaching procedures,which thus plays a vitally important role in the whole teaching.It's closely related with each other between the class lead-in and the quality of teaching.The basic ideas of new curriculum standards lay emphasis on building the platform for the development of students,meeting the individual needs of students,improving the ability of autonomous learning,as well as cultivating the humanistic quality·of students and stimulating their continuous development,which call for the teachers to break away from the stereotypes in teaching ideas and educational models and develop student subjectivity in senior high school class.Developing student subjectivity,in the long run,meets the requirements of English new curriculum reform.Besides,from the specific aspects,it is beneficial for the enrichment of teaching content in English,apart from the improvement of teaching methods.From what has been discussed above,it has become an inevitable trend in the reform and development of English teaching to promote student subjectivity in English class of senior high school.In the study,the author chose the class lead-in which only takes up a few minutes but plays an important part in class teaching as the cutting point,for as is well known,"Well begun is half done."For lead-in in class is the common part of all kinds of senior high school English lesson types,it becomes the most typical and representative.However,in present senior English class teaching in China,there still remain a series of problems in lead-in part,which has a bad influence in teaching effect.Therefore,senior high school teachers should pay attention to developing student subjectivity.Through the observation on the lead-in part in Daye Experimental Senior High School,the author analyzed the practice of lead-in in English class.Based on the self-experience together with other English teachers',the author found out the problems existing in present class lead-in.Then by means of questionnaire and individual interview,the author did empirical research on the development of student subjectivity in class lead-in and verified the mutual effect between student subjectivity and class lead-in.The empirical research was divided into two major parts,namely questionnaire and individual interview.Firstly,the author took 802 Senior Two students in Daye Experimental Senior High School as subjects in the questionnaire,in order to have a close look at the overall practice of student subjectivity in senior high school class lead-in and its major problems.Secondly,the subjects of individual interview are the English teacher in Senior Two of this school so as to discuss with them the influence of their teaching methods on developing student subjectivity.The author of the thesis mainly presents three research questions.First,what are the existing problems in English class lead-in of senior high school?Second,what are the effects of developing student subjectivity on English class lead-in of senior high school?Third,how to promote student subjectivity in lead-in practice?According to the research results,the author found out the problems existing in present senior high school English class.First,because teachers have wrong concepts of lead-in in teaching,they usually ignore the part of lead-in or just take simple forms of lead-in.Secondly,many teachers don't recognize students as the real master of class so that students' subjectivity is not developed.Thirdly,many teachers take improper methods and strategies in lead-in,which leads to poor teaching effects of lead-in.According to class observation,questionnaire and interview are designed.And a second-round class observation follows the improvement of teaching plan and teaching actions,which brings up the influence of developing students' subjectivity.First,developing students'subjectivity has a positive effect on a whole English lesson,which helps improve the teaching efficiency.Secondly,it's good for stimulating students' autonomy,activity and creativity.Finally,it provides opportunities for teachers to reflect frequently based on different teaching outcomes,therefore to refresh their own teaching and educational concepts.From the analysis above,the writer puts forward several suggestions on developing students' subjectivity in the part of lead-in in senior high school English class.First,about educational teaching ideas.Teachers should change and refresh their educational teaching ideas.If more attention is to be paid to the lead-in part of English class,it will lay a good foundation for a complete and perfect English lesson,which contributes to the achievement of high teaching quality.Second,about the methods of lead-in in class.Teachers should build up a new outlook in education which regards students as the subjects in teaching and learning.Teachers should employ new teaching methods to involve more students in teaching activities and create proper environment for students to promote their subjectivity.Third,about the strategies of lead-in in class.Teachers should pay more attention to the selection of lead-in materials according to the physical and psychological characteristics of students.If the enthusiasm and initiative of students in learning can be motivated,they will learn English in a merry and relaxing atmosphere.
