The Consideration Of Being A Class Tutor In Junior School

Head teachers as an essential part of teaching body play an important role in class management.However,there is a lack of head teachers in the current Chinese schools.The phenomenon that teachers are not willing to be head teachers has become a common problem in school management.In China,head teachers are mainly Chinese teachers,math teachers and English teachers while few of them are physics teachers or chemistry teachers.And as it’s rare that P.E.teachers,music teachers and art teachers work as head teachers,there are no specialized classes in art in middle schools.Nowadays,a series of problems,such as head teachers’ high payment with low returns,high risk with low security and a mass of work,lead to the result that main subject teachers are not willing to be head teachers.In this case,young teachers of each subject may be forced to be head teachers.Compared with main subject teachers,it may be unlikely that art teachers are accepted by Chinese parents as head teachers.And it’s uncertain whether students can fit the young teachers’ style of management.This thesis is an attempt to have a discussion about my work experience as a head teacher of Class 6,Grade 9 in Jiefang Middle school,which is mainly concerned with the advantages and the disadvantages of art teachers’ being head teachers.Those who prefer main subject teachers to be head teachers may have a misunderstanding that teaching equals education.In fact,not all main subject teachers are suited for being head teachers.A head teacher of a class must give more love to students than other teachers.What’s more,head teachers play a significant role in students’ growth as well as in teaching.As art makes a great difference in students’ overall development in moral,intellectual and aesthetic aspects,it’s hoped that this thesis helps to change parents’ attitude towards art and promote the status of art lessons.
