Scientific education is a kind of practical activity which uses scientific knowledge,scientific approaches and scientific spirit to culture scientific literacy.In particular,primary school scientific education involves not only scientific cultivation and theoretical accumulation,but also the development and cultivation of students' scientific thinking,ideas and researches,etc.Therefore,for primary school stage,scientific education is an organic integrity integrating different education elements including environment,science,behaviors and so on,which plays a significant role in promoting and enhancing Chinese quality education.In this case,the improvement of scientific education requires not only school cultivation,but also social assistance.Although school is the main force of scientific education,the functions of families and society cannot be neglected,neither can scientific education be separated from society and exist independently.Both education ideas and methods of families and the changes in social environment play a significant role in students' future development.This research takes parents of students in primary schools in Donghu High-tech Zone of Wuhan City as research objects.The author selects parents of students in Grade 1-6 of three primary schools which are all urban public primary schools in Donghu High-tech Zone.This research adopts the method combining qualitative research with quantitative research.On the basis of a large quantity of questionnaires,the situations of primary school extension education are elaborated and analyzed.Then based on the interview research,favorable educational experience in after-school scientific education is further explored,with a view to provide reference and assistance to parents in family scientific education.The author provides suggestions of after-school scientific education in China:firstly,parents should improve their own scientific literacy and teach their children in accordance with their aptitude;secondly,teachers should also improve their own scientific literacy;thirdly,parents should choose diversified education resources and"life-based" education contents;fourthly,parents and teachers should enhance cooperation inside and outside school in various forms as well as improve children's ability of scientific inquiry;fifthly,after-school advantages should be fully excavated and organizational management should be completed,so as to ensure the effective operation of after-school places;sixthly,network resources should be fully utilized;seventhly,new teaching evaluation system should be established.The major goal of this research is to reveal the current situations of after-school scientific education of primary school students,ponder over existing problems&causes as well as provide suggestions on the operability of society,especially parents' carrying out after-school scientific education through combining excellent education methods with domestic&foreign education experience,so that the overall level of after-school scientific education in primary school stage can be raised,cooperation inside and outside school can be further enhanced and students' development in scientific field can be promoted.
