Independent learning has become a hot spot of education research in recent years.The English curriculum standard in our country puts forward that the goal of English course at the basic education stage is to inspire students' motivation and interest in learning,help students to explore the effective learning strategies,cultivate students' consciousness of cooperation,improve students' independent learning ability,and make students benefit all their life in the future.Since the implementation of new curriculum reform,it has become one of the English teachers' teaching goals to improve the ability to learn English independently among junior high school students.This article combines the theory of independent learning and English learning practices among junior high school students,uses the methods of literature review and interview survey,and focuses on Grade 2 students in a certain city to find out the weak points among the junior high school students in learning English independently.This paper proposes the targeted strategies and improves ability of the junior high school students to learn English independently.This research is divided into four parts.The first part is an introduction to the research's background,significance,concepts,as well as related domestic and foreign research results.The second part summarizes the research objects,contents,and statistics and makes an analysis on the results of the research.The third part,through the results of the survey,summarizes the various problems arising among the junior high school students when learning English independently.The fourth part puts forward a few suggestions to improve junior high school students' ability to learn English independently.Through the application in the actual teaching process,the author thinks that such tactics are effective.It is hoped that this paper may provide some useful inspiration and help for future related research and practice.
