| The new curriculum standards of primary English(2011)proposes that English teaching in primary school attaches importance to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive application of language,which requires teachers to concentrate their efforts on arousing students’ learning interest and enhance their humanistic quality.As the rapid development of educational technology,Digital Storytelling,which integrates pictures,sounds,video,flash,etc,provides a new and unique way for teaching.After the investigation,the current primary school English teaching in China has made great progress,but there are still a lot of problems and disadvantages.For example,teacher’s teaching way is too simple;the flexibility for the using of multimedia software is limited;students learn English with low enthusiasm.Therefore,based on the problems mentioned above,the author analyzes the research on the digital story approach combined with science education at home and abroad,which can get the conclusion that digital story approach is an efficient way in assisting primary school English teaching,enriching the teaching forms and unifying the instrumental and humanity of the new curriculum standards of primary English.At the same time,the author finds that there has been no teacher who employs this method to solve the problems.Therefore,the author carries out the detailed search that focuses on the application of digital story approach in science education and employs it in primary school English teaching to solve the problems found above.The author adopts experimental method to analyze the situation of the application of digital story approach in primary school English teaching,and put forward the principles and processes of making digital stories.After that,the author designs three assisted English teaching cases in the principles of narration,plot,interest,etc according to the curriculum standards and specific teaching content.Also,the author applies digital story approach into warming-up,content explanation and emotional cultivation.After carrying on the questionnaires on the students in the experimental class,observing and comparing the changes of students’ learning condition,andcarrying on the interviews on teachers,the author sums up the effects of digital story approach assisting primary English teaching.The research solves the problems of primary school English teachers’ teaching need to design effective and feasible based digital story,flexible use of multimedia assisted English teaching software,to improve students’ English learning interest,enriching the teaching way of Harbor area in Qinhuangdao city.The results showed that Digital Storytelling in English classroom teaching was benefit to cultivate students’ interest in learning English and help students to improve their independent study ability.In addition,the method is helpful for students to understand the cultural customs of foreign countries and correctly understand the cultural outlook on life and values.This was the focus and innovation points of this paper. |
