This paper takes the primary school Chinese teaching material(grades 1 to 6),which is published by People's Education Press,as the research object.Foreign works,which are selected from Chinese textbooks,meet the requirements of the curriculum standards and enrich the language curriculum resources.Students can learn from the essence of works and feel the wonderful world of diversity.Based on the research of Chinese teaching,this paper explains the object of study.First of all,this paper sums up the primary language teaching materials in the overall profile of foreign works,because teachers must understand the characteristics of material selection to grasp teaching rules.There are more than 50 foreign works during the primary school,which can reflect the diversification of the style of selection;then the paper discusses the unique value of the genre,content and teaching of the essay.Foreign works in all grades of teaching materials are distributed,and the purpose of teaching is to enhance students' reading interest and improve their foreign literary attainments.Many articles of foreign writers are distributed relatively widely in the middle and high grade,which are fairy tales,fables,novels and other genres.These selections involve human truth,natural scenery,life stories and other topics,which are to strengthen students' language literacy.According to Chinese teaching situation,it is found that the problem of low efficiency of foreign works teaching exists in every link.This study collected large numbers of literature for reference,such as foreign literary teaching in elementary school and other related works.The research purpose is to find out the teaching problems.Indeed,individual Chinese teachers are lack of a certain theoretical guidance,the teaching concept may be biased;similarly there are shortcomings in the determination of teaching objectives,contents and methods.In the process of learning,students might experience difficulties in understanding foreign works if they aren't familiar with the writing backgrounds of articles.Therefore,this paper analyzes problems and causes of foreign works teaching,and then discusses teaching strategies of foreign works.The article is based on current teaching practice and excellent teachers' teaching cases.To improve the quality of foreign works teaching,educators must start from the problem to choose practical teaching strategies and flexible methods.Teachers must arrange teaching process reasonably and take some teaching measures,such as taking situated teaching,comparative teaching or flipped classroom teaching,to improve teaching effect and active students' thoughts.Certainly,students also need to expand their activities to increase extracurricular knowledge.Practical activities can enhance students' understanding of foreign cultures and create their interest in learning foreign works.
