Self-regulated learning ability refers to the ability of learners in the process of learning to consciously determining learning goals,choose learning methods,monitoring the learning process.The time of high school is a transition period that make someone change "accept type" of middle school to "active type" of university,so it is the best time of cultivating the ability of self-regulated learning.There are many factors which can affect the level of high school students' self-regulated learning,It is a very important factor whether the learning strategies adopted reasonable and effective.Mind mapping as a visual thinking tool which can transform the passive acceptance learning to the active exploratory learning.Now,however,some research about high school students' self-regulated learning ability and the use of mind mapping strategy is lake of enough depth in pertinence and practicality.So the researcher expect this study can be based on the related theory,and to make effective exploration in practical level.This research mainly contains three parts: the first part is a investigation that had used “MSLQ” to measure the currently status of Nanchang 503 high school students' self-regulated learning ability;The second part is a contrast experiment that had made to see whether Mind mapping strategy can improve the ability of self-regulated learning,according to whether using mind mapping,the students had been divided into the experimental group and the control group;The third part is the interview study about the effect of using the mind mapping of some experimental group subjects.Through the statistics and the analysis of the material,this study concludes the following results:1.(1)High school students' self-regulated learning ability overall in the medium level;(2)The self-regulated learning ability of the male students is significantly superior to the female students;(3)The self-regulated Learning ability of the key high school students is better than that of the non-key high school students;(4)The selfregulated Learning ability of students in different grades has significantly difference,this ability shows a trend of rising with the rising of grades.(5)The self-regulated Learning ability of science students is significantly superior to that of arts students female.2.The experimental group is significantly better than the control group in their scores concerning the self-regulated learning ability and the four dimensions of self-efficacy,intrinsic value,cognitive strategy use,self-regulation.3.Students generally accept and recognize the Mind mapping strategy.And the strategy has the power of motivation,logical guidance,self-evaluation,and mission planning.According to the results,the overall level of high school students' self-regulated learning ability is not high,and because of the difference of students' gender,school type,grade and discipline,the self-regulated learning ability has difference.Mind mapping strategy can be used to cultivate high school students' self-regulated learning ability,and students generally accept and recognize this strategy.
