In recent years,with the improvement of people's living standard and quality,the quality of education is more and more high.The improvement of the quality of education depends largely on the development of teachers.As a teaching tool for reference books of teachers,it is undeniable to participate.Therefore,the study of teaching reference books must be paid attention.This paper selects the PEP and Shanghai education editions reference books of history teaching in middle school.Through the two versions of the teaching reference books of "the Opium War",the paper analyzes the similarities and differences between the two versions of the teaching reference books,which hopes to give some suggestions of the reference books.The introduction mainly describes the reason of choosing the topic,the significance of the topic and the research status.The article first defines the concept of teaching reference books and the research object of this study,the PEP and Shanghai Education editions reference books of history teaching in middle school.And described the functions and evaluation criterions of the teaching reference books.Secondly,the article makes a partial analysis from the integral construction about "the Opium War" lesson in the middle school history teaching reference book,including teaching objectives,teaching difficult points,teaching design,and teaching suggestions and so on.Simultaneously analyzes the contents of each section of "the Opium War" lesson in Shanghai education editions reference books of history teaching in middle school,including teaching objectives,teaching points,teaching design,teaching suggestions and so on.The comparisons of the similarities and differences between the teaching reference books of the PEP and Shanghai education editions reference books are from the following five angles: the content,the structure,the learning methods,the emotional attitudes,the status teachers and the students.Finally,the article puts forward the advantages and disadvantages of the two versions of the teaching reference books,and points out that it is too cumbersome in the content of the PEP education editions reference book while it is too insubstantial in the teaching methods of the Shanghai Education Edition.In the end,it gives some suggestions for improvement.
