The economic strength is the key to measure the comprehensive national power, and economic development requires a number of high-quality technical personnel,It raises new requirements for the development of vocational education. The vocational education aims to training technical personnel. Under certain historical conditions, the Vocational Education in the Republic of China became an important way to develop industry and enrich the country. Hubei Province as the central province of China. During the Republic of China era, Hubei confronted natural disasters frequently because of various historical reasons. In order to resume production and develop people's livelihood, Hubei Province in response to the Nanjing National Government policy to develop vocational education at that time. Secondary vocational education as the main part of vocational education at that time, and it has an irreplaceable role in that social background. Through the analysis of the development of secondary vocational education in Hubei Province from 1927 to 1937, we can find the structure of the historical development, and we also hope to bring some enlightenment and reference to the development of secondary vocational education in China.This paper is divided into four parts:First of all, it analyzes the historical background of the development of secondary vocational education in Hubei province since the Late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. The paper describe the background form three parts: the basis of the development of secondary vocational education in Hubei province? the influence of vocational education thought and the traction of Hubei economy.Secondly, it combs the development and vicissitude of the secondary vocational education in Hubei from 1927 to 1937 from the quantity and the policy , and through case studies shows the general situation of secondary vocational education in Hubei at that time.Thirdly, it discusses the implementation of secondary vocational education in Hubei from six aspects: enrollment, curriculum setting, teacher construction, education funding,practice and employment.Finally, it briefly analyzes the historical role of secondary vocational education in Hubei during the period of the Republic of China, and sums up its enlightenment to today's secondary vocational education according to its experience and deficiency.
