The development and use of local art courses has become a boom in recent years. T he national unified arrangement of teaching materials can not meet the needs of local art education, but the development of school-based curriculum has made up for the shortage of nationally arranged teaching materials, of which the new curriculum reform is the basi s. Additionally, the country has developed successful cases of local school-based curricul um.Nan Yang is an outstanding place,where the Han Culture and the Chu Culture interse ct. Moreover, the atmosphere of Han Culture provides the art education with a wealth of artistic resources. As we all know, Han Culture Drawing Museum, collecting over 2000 pieces of Han Dynasty's stone reliefs, is the biggest museum of China. Besides,the excellent local art resources provides a hardware condition for the development of th is subject.This paper analyzes the theoretical basis about why the Nan Yang Han Dynasty ' s stone reliefs is used as the development of the high school art curriculum. As the author is to explore the development of the local curriculum for the first time, the author carries out some of the column to explore in accordance with the five sections. In the first section, the author analyzes the value of the Nanyan Han Dynasty' stone reliefs into the high school art curriculum. In this section, the author has three parts to explore, and focuses on the analysis of the artistic value of the Nanyan Han Dynasty ' stone reliefs .The second section is the feasibility about the Nanyang Han stone art as the art school-based curriculum ,which is also divided into two parts to introduce. One is the developing situation of the high schools art education in Nanyang ,while the other one is the advantages and meanings of the Nanyan Han Dynasty ' stone reliefs developed as a curriculum. The third section is the teaching significance of the Nanyan Han Dynasty'stone reliefs developed as the school-based curriculum in the high schools in Nanyang.The fourth section and the fifth section are the focus of the article and also the wonderful parts in this paper. The fourth section is the teaching application of the Nanyan Han Dynasty' stone reliefs in art classes in the high schools. In this section, the author carries student analysis and designs the project in accordance with art appreciation of the review,design and craft and comprehensive exploration, and also makes a series of teaching reflection. In the fifth section, according to the research and development of the courses,the author also makes an assumption on the reflection and reuse of the local curriculum development, hoping to develop a series of local courses, enrich art courses, and dedicate meager power to the local high school art education.
