Local official school refers to the Han dynasty, presided over by the governor-general, invested and established by the theory of Confucianism as the main teaching content, and the central authority jointly form the Han dynasty official system of three level schools:the local state, county, hometown level.It is an important part of the Han school system. However, the local official school in Han dynasty was in a very awkward position within the education system, on the one Hand it did not have official business in the system to improve the rules, regulations and policy support; On the other Hand, it did not have prestigious teachers or steady stream of students, as folk private schools.It was not prominent in the aspects of school-running or scaled regulation system. In fact, in general, given by the opinions of the scholars of Han education research, the local official school is a weak link.The local official school in Han dynasty, however, as an important form of the school of education, is a necessary carrier for the injection of education system and education ideas. It has great significance in understanding the level and the degree of education of a certain period by looking into the subject; it provides reference and guidance for the reality of education practice and education research.This article conducts a detailed investigation of the Han authority from the development of the local official school in Han dynasty, Han dynasty management system of local official school and the social impact by characteristics of local authority in Han dynasty. After the analysis of historical data, trying to draw an outline of the development of the local official school in Han dynasty. Therefore, the main structure of this article is divided into the following several parts:The first part is the introduction. It systematically explains the origin of the selected topic and the research status of topic in China and overseas. Through analysis, it finds out the conclusion that the study of the Han dynasty of the local authority has meaningful significance to clarify the school education in ancient China and guide the present education, and the research is weak at home and abroad. And therefore elaborated the structure of the framework and research methods used in this paper.The second part focuses on the rise and development of the local official school in Han dynasty in. Mainly examines the development history of the local official school in Han dynasty, which describes the initial time of local authority, and introduces the west-Han promotion as a milestone in the development of Chinese local authority. More than that, it examines the three times of the western Han dynasty government promotion of imperial edicts in detail, and outlines the prosperous development of the eastern Han dynasty state, county, hometown level3of local schools. It aims at clarifying the development of the local official school in Han dynasty, and hoping to be able to highlight the fact that local authority belongs to the local authority web-mediated communication in ancient China, and then eye-view the development of the local official school in Han dynasty.The third part examines the administration of local authority system in Han dynasty. By analyzing the system, demonstrates the size of the local authority, teachers, students and teaching contents. Because teachers’quality directly determines the quality of the education and therefore the quality of the teachers in local authority is the key in this paper. This part of the research is conducted with synchronic study, comparing to business related situation at the same period, use diagrams and tables to discuss the management of local authority system in Han. From the other facet, it shows the development of the local official school in Han dynasty, and provides material support for the following part of the paper.The fourth part summarizes the characteristics and influence of the local official school in Han dynasty. Based on the two former parts discussed, it summarizes the school-running characteristics of the local official school in Han dynasty, namely large scale, low level and unbalanced development. It also further explains the influences that local authority given to the society:first, it promoted the social education and Confucian ethics; Second, it enhanced the integration and extended the radiating surface of Chinese culture; Third, it facilitated the local talent cultivation and expanded the centralized rule base; Fourth, in terms of China’s local authority longitudinal development, the local official school in Han dynasty has a profound impact for the future official educational mode, teaching content, regulations and etc.The fifth part is the conclusion; it summarizes this paper as a whole, and categorizing the arguments in this paper.
