When speaking of the development of arts curriculum resources,the Ministry of Education pointed out in it’s The Fine Art Curriculum Standards of Full-time Compulsory Education(2011 Edition) that the efficiency of the fine arts teaching will be improved and the charming of it will be highlighted if we actively explore and exploit local fine arts curriculum resources since it is relatively abundant. Therefore measures should be taken to encourage all teaching staff actively research and develop the fine arts curriculum resources and to write teaching materials of school-based curriculum. It follows that the teaching concept to enrich the fine arts curriculum in middle school and form the important contents of local arts teaching is stressed in our country’s new curriculum reform. Xuzhou, a symbolic place of the culture of was the born place of Han Dynasty stone-carved picture which belongs to the three specialties of Han Dynasty. Han Dynasty stone-carved picture is a kind of picture which is carved in the inner walls of the tomb and the temple walls by the Han craftsmen. It recorded Han dynasty’s myths and legends, religious beliefs, judgments, social life and so on in the form of a decorative painting system, to reflect the history of the Han dynasty.Therefore it is the expression of national aesthetic consciousness and thinking mode of Han dynasty and also a good representative of local art resources.On the basis of actual investigation, the study focuses on the effective integration of the Han Dynasty stone-carved picture resources and fine arts. It exploits Han Dynasty stone-carved picture, the resources of fine arts according to circumstances and integrates it into the fine arts teaching of middle school to develop fine arts teaching cases of Han Dynasty stone-carved picture of Xuzhou characteristics and to enrich fine arts resources in Xuzhou, thereby improving the students’ ability to investigation,aesthetics and creation as well as strengthening their attention to the local art heritage and confidence and pride for hometown and nation.The study consists of four parts:Part 1 analyses the integration of Han Dynasty stone-carved picture into the fine arts teaching of middle school from values of aesthetics, moral education and history.Part 2 investigates and analyses the status of the integration of Han Dynasty stone-carved picture into the fine arts teaching of middle school finding out theproblems exist to make foundation for further study.Part 3 and part 4 are the keystone of this paper. Part 3 filters the Han Dynasty stone-carved picture resources which have been integrated into fine arts teaching of middle school and states the principle and results of filtering, which aims to integrate Han Dynasty stone-carved picture of good quality in to fine arts teaching as well as to show how the process is conducted from the aspects of establishing electronic material database of Han Dynasty stone-carved picture resources, thinking out teaching methods for different areas and teaching strategy.In part 4, the author integrates the Han Dynasty stone-carved picture into study areas of “appreciation, review”,“shape,performance”and “integrated, exploring”in fine arts teaching of middle school according to course outline with the expectation to form a reference value for the art education of Xuzhou by practice research.
