With the educational informatization advancing comprehensively, personalized learning modes such as autonomous learning, mobile learning and micro learning have become growing trends, and it has become increasingly difficult for traditional courses-with more content and larger units-to adapt. As a new form of learning resources,"micro course" rapidly appeals to the learners, especially the new generation, for being"short, concise, and effective." However, the current study of micro course production is lagging behind the study of teaching design and evaluation system. The lack of theoretical guidance brings disappointing result to the micro course production: long production cycle, poor quality, unsatisfactory teaching outcome, along with blocked application and promotion. Therefore, strengthening the theoretical study of the micro-course production is of increasing urgency.Based on the analysis of the current micro course video production theory, this paper compares the production of micro course with that of film and television, and points out the shortcomings of the production of micro course. Combined with the WIT-Digital Curriculum Center micro course video production model, the paper elaborates the application of the film and television theory in the practice of micro-course production.The first chapter reviews the current research of micro course production at home and abroad. The second chapter summarizes the concepts and the theoretical basis of the micro course. The third chapter systematically analyzes the questionnaire data, and points out the problems and their causes in the micro course produced by college teachers. The fourth chapter discusses the micro course production at the WIT-Digital Curriculum Center, and makes suggestions to the micro course production in colleges and universities. The fifth chapter provides following suggestions from the perspectives of the nation, the universities, and the teachers: To integrate the Education courses with the Film and Television courses; to carry out information training program for the teachers; to explore the cooperation mode of universities and enterprises; to integrate the video resources in colleges and universities; to improve the theory system of film and television; and to master the skills of video production.This paper explores the micro course video production from the perspective of film and television theory with the hope to enrich the academic theory of the micro course research, and to provide theoretical support for the micro course production. It also strives to benefit the process, the cycle, and the quality of micro course production in colleges and universities.
