A Study About Effect Of Environmental Risk Perception On Government Trust

In recent years,under the background of building an all-round well-off society,our country's economics developed,people's living standard improved,when the contradiction of material needs has been resolved,the problem of environment become more and more serious,affect our living and normal production even threaten our life.So people come to realize that environment risk has become one of the hindrance of social development and threaten human survival risks.For a long time,domestic and overseas scholars usually discuss the problem of government trust at economic perspective,political perspective,or cultural perspective,This research will use the datas not only from CGSS2010,but also from government websites,through the software statal2.0 to screen out useful datas,choose valid samples,then from the point of environmental risk perception,use government trust as dependent variable,environmental risk perception as independent variable to build a regression model.As the government trust is a multi-dimensional system that include the trust of political system,the trust of different levels of government,the trust of government officials and the trust of different areas,when discuss the effects of environmental risk perception on government trust,we will through the different levels,different dimensionality and different groups to research the effects of environmental risk perception on central government trust and local government trust,on desire-based government trust and competency-based government trust,on different areas government trust or urban and rural government trust.This research finds that:When the public have stronger environmental risk perception,then they will have lower trust in government.When the public find the environment problems around is becoming more and more serious,even threaten their normal production and living,they may attributed the environmental risk to government,they think that government's works on environment were not done well,so they become distrust in the government;when the public have stronger environmental risk perception,the differences between the central government trust and the local government trust will bigger.The pattern that "the central government trust is higher but the local government trust is lower"has been proved by many scholars,this research also find some similar conclusion through the point of environmental risk perception;when the public have stronger environmental risk perception,the willingness to trust government is lower and the trust of work capability of government is lower too;the effects of environmental risk perception on government trust of people from west area,middle area and east area is different,the effects of environmental risk perception on government trust of people from north area and south area is different,also,the effects of environmental risk perception on government trust of people from rural and urban is different too.
